- Respiratory Signs 🐥💨: Gasping or abnormal respiratory efforts indicate potential issues within the bird’s respiratory system.
- Digestive Concerns 💩: Diarrhea is a clear sign of problems in the digestive system.
- Nervous System Issues 🧠: Nervous signs such as tremors or abnormal behavior can point to issues within the nervous system.
- Differential Diagnosis: After identifying clinical signs, the next step is differential diagnosis, which helps narrow down the list of potential diseases affecting your poultry.
- Post Mortem Examination 🪦: An essential part of the diagnostic process involves opening the carcass to observe post mortem lesions, providing key indicators for suspecting famous diseases.
- Lab Diagnosis: To confirm a diagnosis, we’ll send blood and tissue samples to the laboratory. This includes:
- Blood Sampling 🩸: Taking a blood sample from the wing vein using a sterile syringe for representative flock sampling.
- Tissue Sampling 🪬: Collecting tissue samples under sterile conditions or impressing them onto FTA cards, or sending them in ice bags for testing like Elisa test for A titer for ND/IB/IBD/AI.
- Laboratory Confirmation 🔬: Learning the role of laboratories in confirming whether a disease is viral or bacterial and understanding the importance of accurate diagnosis.
